Where do you hail from and what makes you proud to be there and how that influences your travel profession?

I was born in New York, raised in Maryland before graduating from U of DE and moving to Rehoboth Beach. Both of my parents were born and raised in Sweden which has obviously shaped my life in a big way. At just a couple of months old, I took my first trip on an airplane to visit my family in Sweden. Traveling back and forth between America and Europe became an essential part of my childhood. At home, I was able to experience two different cultures sparking my curiosity of other cultures. Being in the travel industry is a natural fit where every day is focused on a variety of destination highlights.

Specialties/Certifications in the industry.

After earning my Signature Travel Expert Certification the first six months giving me a worldwide overview of thousands of tours and cruises through our reputable suppliers and how to work with ‘industry only’ on the ground specialists to give my clients the best vacation possible, my specialty training kicked in.

Because of my personal travel experience – I am the Accent On Travel specialist for Scandinavian countries and France. In addition, because I have traveled since childhood with my family all over the world, I am the family vacation expert for our Delaware office. I am certified to use Royal Caribbean Cruises, Princess Cruises, Disney Cruise Line, Norwegian Cruise Line, Crystal Cruises, Oceania Cruises, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Ama Waterways, Uniworld Boutique River Cruises, Viking River Cruises, Silversea Cruises, Seabourn Cruise Line for family vacation planning. I also earned travel certifications in Club Med, G Adventures, Backroads and Adventures by Disney to know the ins and outs of the wide variety of vacation options available for families.

Favorite travel experience:

Though all of my travel experiences have been rewarding, my time in France is definitely at the top of my list. I studied abroad for 6 months and was able to fully immerse myself in the culture and the language. I took weekend trips all over the country and loved the fact that every city has a different feel and charm to it. Every day brought something new and different which is the best part of travel for me. I love being able to step outside of my comfort zone and experience new things.
